What is EDGE?
If you are a 7th or 8th grader EDGE is the place for you! EDGE is the Faith Formation Program for 7-8th grade and is all about learning how to know and love Christ and His Church. We meet regularly on Tuesdays 7:00- 8:30pm in the youth room during the school year.
Each Semester has a Catechetical theme, during the EDGE nights we will learn about this theme.
We will also have social nights and current issue nights.
Learning about God is not supposed to be something that is uninteresting or boring.
Catechesis should be an encounter with Jesus himself.
Blessed John Paul II said “at the heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth.”
Everything we do, from watching silly videos to playing games or praying together should all lead to a deeper relationship with Christ through his Church.
A beautiful thing about being Catholic is that we are ONE Church, we are ONE family.
In EDGE we hope to make it possible for teens to grow in community with each other, with the whole parish, and ultimately our universal Church.
Each teen is part of a small group with the same CORE members and other junior high schoolers for the entire year to foster this community, and to make every teen feel like they have a place to belong in EDGE.
EDGE also offers:
Summer programming: in addition to regular EDGE nights at your parish, we offer an EDGE Summer Camp and weekly EDGE events from June through the first week of August. More information can be found at our EDGE Summer page.
EDGE offers junior high youth occasions to put their faith into action through a variety of service projects.
