WYD: Pilgrimage Sites
Venice and Padua, Italy
Among the many sites in Venice and Pauda, a very special place for our pilgrimage is the Basilica of St. Anthony. Here we will be able to pray at the tomb of St. Anthony and experience the Saint that is fundamental to our Parish identity.
Assisi is one of the most beautiful places on earth and the hometown of St. Francis and St. Clare - to Saints very important to St. Anthony himself.
"All roads lead to Rome." This was definitely true at the time of the Roman Empire, and for us hundreds of years later, the road to Rome leads us to the heart of our Catholic faith. Hundreds of Churches, Saints, and stories of the glory of Jesus Christ and His Church pave the streets of Rome where we will be able to experience and walk the same path our brothers and sisters have walked for centuries.
St. John Paul II, Divine Mercy, The Holocaust, St. Faustina, St. Maximillian Kolbe, Our Lady of Czestochowa... the list goes on and on. Poland is a nation unlike any other containing a people rich in their history and alive in their faith. This is where the bulk of our Pilgrimage will take place and will prove to be a country that will change our lives and show us the face of Jesus.
On our way home we will be stopping in Vienna, Austria. This city contains a rich history, beautiful Churches, and fantastic coffee!
