WHAT IS CONFIRMATION YEAR 1?
St. Anthony of Padua prepares high school teens over a two year period for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Candidates for Confirmation can begin preparation in their Freshman year of high school. Each Candidate will complete their first year of preparation by attending Sunday evening Life Teen sessions or with enrollment in an accredited Catholic High School. The second year of preparation is the year in which the Candidate will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Confirmation Year 1 is dedicated to laying the foundation of Christian discipleship. Jesus Christ invites everyone to "Come, follow me." High school students are no different. Our goal is to create an environment where high school students can hear the Word of God, live their faith in community, and grow in holiness.
WHO IS IT FOR?
This program is for incoming 9th -11th graders that desire to begin preparation to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. The Archdiocese of Houston-Galveston guidelines require this preparation to be done over 2 years.
With excellent attendance in the Confirmation Year 1 preparation, your child will be eligible to enter Confirmation Year 2 in the following school year.
